EU Data Protection & GDPR
This page explains the current European data-protection framework relevant to the NVRPilot website and video surveillance. It supplements, but does not replace, the site-specific Privacy Policy.
The German text is authoritative for legal assessment.
1. Current EU framework
The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 has applied directly since 25 May 2018. It is technology-neutral and can cover identifiable video footage.
2. Former Data Protection Directive
Directive 95/46/EC is no longer in force. Article 94 GDPR repealed it with effect from 25 May 2018. References to a general EU data-protection directive should therefore be read in light of the current framework centred on the GDPR.
3. Principles and NVRPilot processing
Article 5 GDPR requires lawfulness, fairness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation, integrity, confidentiality and accountability. NVRPilot’s concrete processing is described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Video surveillance
Operators must assess and document purpose, legal basis, necessity, field of view, retention, access, security and information duties before activation. NVRPilot supports privacy-friendly technical design; the operator normally remains the controller for the actual system.
5. Individual rights
Articles 12–22 GDPR provide rights including information, access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Requests concerning this website may be sent to min2dit@gmail.com.
6. ePrivacy, transfers and legal notice
Directive 2002/58/EC and national law complement the GDPR for electronic communications and device storage. Transfers outside the EEA require a basis under Articles 44 et seq. GDPR. This overview is general information, not legal advice.
