Use the fillable A4 short sign at the entrance and make the complete Article 13 notice easily accessible, preferably printed in A3. These are completion aids and do not replace a site-specific legal assessment.
Purpose and field of view
Document a concrete purpose and risk for each camera, assess less intrusive measures and normally limit the image to the property boundary. Mask public paths, neighbouring property, permanent workplaces and sensitive areas.
Audio, biometrics and retention
Audio recording is disabled and facial recognition is not configured by default. Retention must be as short as possible; Berlin guidance requires specific justification beyond 48 hours.
Transparency
People must see a sign before entering the monitored area and have easy access to full Article 13 GDPR information.
Security and cloud
Change default passwords, restrict access, update firmware and prefer encryption, VPN and MFA. Before cloud or third-country processing, verify the provider, processing agreement and transfer mechanism.
